Without a doubt Wasdale is my favourite part of the Lake District. It’s a bit wilder than heading to the well traversed towns of Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick. The towns are smaller, the roads are narrow and windy, and the country pubs are remote.
This weekend we started in Nether Wasdale and climbed up Buckbarrow, and followed a circuit to Seatallen and Middle fell. It’s probably the last of the Fell tops we will see this year and it made for some beautiful photos. The wind and soggy feet aren’t pictured.
Wow, this place is gorgeous! I like how peaceful it feels. Plus, seems like nobody was around! I can’t get enough of that little lake that appears between the mountains like a mirage. #FarawayFiles

It was very windy, which I think kept the crowds away! Lucky for us since we had it to ourselves, only saw about 6 other hikers all day.

This looks so beautiful, Amanda! I’d love to explore more of the Lake District so I’m saving this for when we can spend a good amount of time there. #FarawayFiles

Thanks! (I’d never heard of it before we moved here, so I guess it’s still somewhat undiscovered!)

It’s true though, there were definitely points during the walk we debated turning back due to wet feet!

Wasdale seems so picturesque and astonishing place, Amanda. Hiking there sounds like so much fun. When’s the best time of the year to explore it?

June and September are the months where weather tends to be best in this area, but it’s beautiful any time of year!

Great photos! Seems like a lot of open fields for camping and other activities.
